    • It was obvious that Brian O'Blivion was based on Marshall McLuhan but I didn't know that another character, Barry Convex, was supposedly based on Northrop Frye, who was McLuhan's big rival Canadian intellectual. Oh and Walter Ong was also part of the Toronto intellectual scene.
    • The stuff about technology being an extension of man – boy that stuff sounds stale. True but stale, we already know that and we are already halfway engulfed, can anything new be said about it? I should note I listened to this episode on earbuds while walking the dog, so parading around the neighborhood as an entirely unremarkable cross-species cyborg.
    • We excrete technology – this is seen as something horrible for ome reason, not sure why. JFM in partcular has a horror of the natural, but if tool-use requires an intervntion from "the acausal", then it is OK. Dumb.
