    • I seem to have developed this personal style of close reading – I'll get a physical book, drop sticky tabs in places that seem of interest, then go back to the tabs and copy the quote or thought into a page here. Often I'll bootleg the electronic version for ease of clipping.
    • This is time consuming but ensures that at least I will retain the best bits – if you consider this my exobrain, which I do.
    • It's interesting to note how anti-AI this is. Not opposed to it, but literally the opposite technique that I'm sure most people use these days, which is to load a text into an LLM and interrogate it. I've done this too It's very cool and a bit terrifyingly powerful. But it involves putting an extra layer between you and the text, whereas my sticky-tab routine gets me more engaged with it.
