Everybody has this function, the role is enacted, consciously or not, and playing it well or poorly. It's your self-story, the way you dramatize yourself to yourself (and to others, but that is secondary). You can't avoid doing it, even the anti-narrative folks have to account for themselves.
Narrative time – time as it occurs in fictions and representations. Once upon a time. Has plot points and beats and such. Overlaps with experiential time to the extent that experience has a narrative structure (see Against Narrativity )
