    • Computational visionaries see a possible future for technology and build it. Or attempt to (Ted Nelson surely counts even if he couldn't get his vision built). Kay, Engelbart, Sutherland, Minsky, Lisp Machine people. See Lost Visions of the Information Age.
    • Any software developer is a visionary in miniature. You think of something and then build it! Such a great feeling to do so, most other domains do not let you do this as easily.
    • Is Stewart Brand a visionary? His Whole Earth and Long Now ideas definitely count. But I think of him more as a visionary-appreciator, like me.
    • Leftists used to be visionaries. Seems to be mined out, although I guess there are signs of life like Fully Automated Luxury Communism - Wikipedia . Mostly the left functions as critics and weak, failed brakes on uncontrolled capitalism.
      • One reason I could never really call myself an anarchist is that no anarchist could offer a vision for how such a society would work (although the fictional world of The Dispossessed is tantalizing).
