AMMDI is an open-notebook hypertext writing experiment, authored by Mike Travers aka mtraven. It's a work in progress and some parts are more polished than others. Comments welcome! More.
I like to argue, and I've been doing it on the internet since before there was an internet, but I have to admit (a) it isn't as great a method as advertised and (b) it comes off as obnoxious.
The argument for argument is from traditional scholarship, which is dialectical and agonistic (see Ong)
Something about academic or intellectual discourse in general encourages argument and hostility, that's not just me, that's the genre. Good academics can play the game and score a friendly win, amateurs like me get too emotional and turn it into a deathmatch.
