See weird naturalism and "God" ≡ God. This is a version of the same thought. It seems so obvious, so dumb, so profound. Of course ideas and idea-like things are real, in the sense that they have real effects on us. What else would they be?
I suppose it's vacuous. If everything is real, than the word "real" ceases to have any meaning or use. Perhaps that's the idea.
It seems to be a mind-destroying idea. The ability to distinguish real from fake seems pretty important. A $100 dollar bill and a counterfeit are both "real" in the trivial sense, but not in the same way.
Ah that is a pretty important aspect. The chair I'm sitting on is real, so is the number 23, God, Sherlock Holmes, and me and you....but they are all real in different ways.
